2014 Palmetto Heroes Program is Here!

SC Housing is pleased to introduce the Heroes selected for the 2014 Palmetto Heroes program. They include community service personnel in the fields of law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, education, and health care, as well as veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

This program will offer both Conventional and FHA financing, a competitive interest rate, and repayable down payment assistance of $7,000. Funding is limited, and is available on a first-come first-served basis. Borrowers must have a fully executed sales contract for the purchase of a home prior to locking the interest rate. NOTE: Forgivable down payment assistance may be available. Restrictions will apply.

All borrowers may be eligible to save up to $2000 per year on their federal income taxes by participating in the SC Mortgage Tax Credit (MCC) program. All lenders offering the Palmetto Heroes program must be approved by SC Housing to participate in the MCC program.

Eligible Palmetto Heroes home buyers can get a fixed interest rate of 4.25% on a mortgage as well as down payment assistance of up to $7,000.
